Revell Corvette Stingray 1964 Red #13

This car was donated to me by a fellow collector (thanks Terry!) after I was able to mould and cast clear copies of several Revell windscreens and other Revell parts, which enabled him to restore some of his old favourites. This one was in rather poor condition, although Terry had repaied most of the body damage, and mechanically it was fine. The windscreen had marks and cracks, so wanted to replace that, but the old one had so much glue between it and the roof, I had to grind it off around the edges just to remove it, then grind off all the complete top section and the glue to allow room for the new windscreen to fit (without grinding right through the roof panel of course). All accessories were missing, but as I had already created moulds for all the pieces for Terry (including wheel inserts), it wasn't a problem to cast my own copies of everything. Because of the body damage, it had to be repainted, but I stuck with the original red, so it would go faster:). The chassis is the metal type, and doesn't sit too high, so have left it for now, but would like to find some way to lower it a smidgeon in the future. Car runs very nicely now, and looks quite good too in my opinion.
