Strombecker is one of the few slot car makers with a Ferrari Testa Rossa in its range, and after beginning some restoration and relivery work on a fellow collectors pair of TRs, I decided to either make my own copies, or acquire some Strombecker bodies. This car happened along on ebay at a very decent price, and it still had a working motor, so was a very good buy. Decided to leave it in the original metallic Maroon/bronze colour, but may repaint later. Have also acquired 2 other TR bodies without running gear, and these will probably get a scratch built chassis with Scalextric running gear (eventually). It was missingh all external bits, but during the course of restoring the aforementioned TRs, I was able to mould and make copies of all the required parts, including headlights, windscreen, exhausts and driver. I had to modify the body and chassis mounts substantially to get the body to sit low enough, as it sat way too high in its standard setup, but it is possible to achieve with the Strombecker chassis. Its not a bad car to drive, and it looks quite nice now, but I hope to improve it further when I build the next 2 up with a different chassis.
