C061 Porsche Spyder Blue #1

Very recent addition, although it too has been waiting a while to be restored, along with the yellow version. The bodywork was badly damaged around the rear wheel arches, but was able to mould them from another mint body I picked up a short while back, and was able to reproduce the original arch shapes using resin. It was already blue, but there were stains and marks and ships all over it, as well as the repaired arches, so decided to do a complete repaint in the original colour. A friend was able to colour match it for me, and repainted this one, along with another body that had black stains above the wheels. He did a great job and the came out looking better than ever. He also did a Lamborghini Muira for me, and gave me the left over paint in a spray pack, which I hope to use on some near future repaints. It needed running gear, but as RX motors are so expensive and hard to come by, I installed a J111 motor instead, and reworked the front end of the chassis to take a normal push in guide instead of the old pin guide, and mounted it as far forward as I could go without wrecking the body mounting point. It does improve the handling quite significantly, but really needs to be further forward still to be ideal. The windscreen, rear lights and front wheels are all repro versions that I have cast myself.
