While scouring ebay for 70's F1 wrecks to supply several orders for F1s with the clip-in style J111-based running gear, I managed to score this later versioned model which only took the mabuchi style motor. As I did not have any McLarens in my collection, I decided to keep and restore this one. As I ended up with several of the early black end-bell mabuchi motors, and these cars were very light, decided to make them all even and run with those motors in them to make them comparable in performance with my other early F1s. Both the airbox and wing are repro versions.
