This was a drift car, which simply would not run on my old bumpy and warped scalextrci track, mainly due to insufficient contact with the rails because of the guide blade design. However, I was able to fairly easily convert it to a normal style car, by inserting a screw in the appropriate place in the guide swivel plate, to stop it spinning 360 degrees, then reversed the braids so they stick out from the plate like normal braids do, I also replaced the big magnets with small lead weights front and rear to balance it up and give it some weight, added my grippy repro tyres to it, and it now runs like a dream. Very quick on the straights, but controllable through the curves.
