Mercedes W154 "Silver Arrow" #6 - Scratchbuild

This car has been built from scratch, using a body I sluch cast myself from one of Peter Donovan's old GP moulds. The chassis is hand made using electrical conduit at the core. I have found this to be very cheap, fairly rigid and very easy to cut, file, glue and shape to fit the needs of each car. Has a Mabuchi clone motor in it, which doesn't have very high revs, but does have good torque, so is quite zippy around and out of corners. The current wheels are modern F40 type wheels, with a vintage wheel insert glued on. Doesn't look right, but handles very well. Will eventually make up wheels and tyres of the correct size with be a bigger diameter and narrower width, which should give it a higher top speed.
