A very recent acquisition. I have been after one of these for many years, partly due to its rarity and partly to its great shape. Not sure it does the real car justice, but its eye-catching just the same. Never thought I'd be able to afford one (let alone more) but I managed to win an ebay auction with three of these E Type bodies and chassis only. There were no innards or bumpers or anything, just the top and bottom halves of 3 of these, and one of the chassis was broken in half, and all 3 bodies had damage of some kind, so I was the only bidder, and picked it up for about the price of a single damaged one. I managed to borrow a complete one from a fellow collector (thanks Peter), and moulded up all the missing bits. Took quite a bit of effort in the end to fully restore the first of them, as the overall body had shrunk by about 1/4 inch for some reason, so the windows and interior had to be ground down considerably and even things like the rear lights and bumpers needed a little work to fit properly. Also had to adjust engine mounts and flare the rear guards out a little more. This body was the best of the 3, but still had a very long crack down the middle of the roof, which I hid with a strategically placed stripe decal. The others had badly damaged rear guards, so will have to rebuild those with putty or resin before I can proceed with those.
